There is nothing better than getting outside for a hike in the summertime! For Seattleites, it is peak season for adventures and getting outdoors.
This summer I have been living in jumpers and clogs and am so excited to share with you two of my favorite designers. I trekked out around Colorado to shoot these images in the beginning of a storm. The thunder was rolling and the rain came for a few minutes before clearing up. Thankfully it did, because this place is too magical.
Bryr Clogs is based out of San Francisco and their shoes are ridiculously cute. I love all their styles and vision. Their newest style is this simone closed toe high heel. The nude color of the leather is to die for and the style is so classic!
A little about them:
“Each pair of our clogs are made-to-order in our workshop in San Francisco. We are proud to say that all our leathers are sources from US tanneries, using the best (and most eco) manufacturing processes. We decided to use US leather, not just to support American Manufacturing, but because after searching high and low for the best, strongest, most supple leathers to make our clogs, we found it in our own back yard. Our bases are made out of solid wood, and are light and strong.
We believe in slow fashion and in making things that last. We encourage our customers to come for a visit and stay a while, and we love to help them find their perfect clog. Our goal is to make you a pair of clogs that you’ll love (and wear!) for a long time.
The process of making each pair of clogs takes about a week, and every pair is touched by every person in the studio. We are currently an all-women team of 5 kick-ass ladies. On most days, we have the music blaring, the neumatic cutting machine going and we are all happily making. ”
To me there is nothing better than amazing ladies making rad stuff! The jumper I am wearing is super lightweight linen with the cutest pockets in the front. I have loved this jumper for those hot summer days. It comes in a few colors, so check it out :).
A little about Ilana Kohn:
“Prior to working in fashion, Ilana Kohn worked for close to a decade as a successful commercial editorial illustrator for clients such as the New Yorker, the New York Times and Kiehl’s among many others. With a life long love of fashion, in 2011, Kohn began to craft ideas for a clothing line with a mind to creating easy to wear, clean & classic clothing that would serve to be a new canvas for her bold, colorful patterns. Having evolved from four basic silhouettes, the collection has grown into a full-fledged collection, providing boutique buyers and shoppers a wealth of choices for easy everyday dressing.”
Personally, I love everything Ilana Kohn creates. Each piece is so stylish and easy to wear, whether I am showing up in front of or behind the camera.
Hope you enjoy the images. Don’t forget to check out both of these amazing designers!
