When making a road trip list from Seattle, I knew that Painted Hills was a must stop for us. It is one of the seven wonders of Oregon.
Painted Hills is named after the colorful layers of its hills corresponding to various geological eras, formed when the area was an ancient river floodplain. The unique colors that streak the clay rich hills and mounds were formed over 35 million years ago by different volcanic eruptions and changing climate patterns. Over time the landscape transformed over and over again responding to the powerful forces of nature. Layers of ash and different types of soil mixed with minerals and plant material and eroded causing the unique coloring of the Painted Hills landscape we see today.
As a photographer as well as fashion lover, I am always looking for minimal outfits that coordinate well with my surroundings. Outfits for me have to transition well from shooting to street style. This year, I cannot get enough of camel tones. Aritzia nailed it again! Pretty sure this jacket has been on all my travels this winter :), so I am excited to share it with you!
The flats are my favorite to sling on for any outdoor adventures. They allow me to feel stylish when trekking outdoors, because let’s be real sometimes those high heel boots don’t cut it in the outdoors ;).
H & M is making some rad colors this year for sweaters, so I was stoked to find this deep green color to pair it with.
EARTH TONES FOR THE WIN!!!
Can’t get enough of the texture in Painted Hills. The area is so beautiful and unlike anything~
In total the last three weeks, I will have been in 9 different states. WHOOAA crazy huh?! Next stop, New Mexico and Texas. Then I am headed to Moab to shoot, email me if you are around :).
