Do you ever wish that all your images had a place to be visually seen in your home? Personally, there is something so beautiful about seeing my images come to life in printed form. It has been a goal of mine for the last two years to print images from my life and travels. So I chose to start with my recent travels to Jordan working with Visit Jordan . These images hold such a special place to me and seeing them in a beautiful book caught the attention of many people while carrying it around Seattle.
For those of you unfamiliar, Blurb is an independent, creative book-making platform. Blurb allows me to easily create books & magazines in a variety of shapes. They even have free book-making tools, including their desktop publishing software BookWright. Yet, for the more experienced person there is also the ability to use Blurb’s Adobe InDesign plug-in or Lightroom integration for even more control over the book creation process. This particular book is printed in a 13 X 11 Landscape and printed on ProLine paper. Prior to ordering, I received a swatch kit of Blurb’s paper options which was perfect as I got to feel the texture and see the quality beforehand.
In the past, the process of creating books like this was overwhelming to someone unfamiliar with photo software. Yet today, Blurb has made it simple to create clean and eye-catching templates to showcase your images. I created all of these templates and the process took me about 30 minutes to complete. Yet, there are already pre-made templates that are stunning and utilizing these can cut your design time in half.
As a commercial photographer, I am always printing new work to present at meetings with various clients and agencies. Blurb has given me the ability to quickly create a new series of my images to have in hand for meetings the next week. It is a perfect solution whether you are creating it to feature your kids, personal travels, or business.
Aren’t the colors stunning in print?! Blurb also offers the ability to print multiple books that you can give as gifts or sell to others interested in beautiful coffee table books.
After the responses of people asking to look through this book while walking around downtown Seattle photographing it, I will be offering a select series of travel books for sale.
